Chicago, IL March 22, 2019 – HealthPRO Heritage, one of the largest independently owned therapy and consulting service providers in the country, is proud to announce that its Quality Assurance Compliance Coordinator Berenice Galvez Soto was named to the inaugural class of Rising Stars in the McKnight’s Women of Distinction program.
The Rising Stars category honors women younger than 40, or who have less than 15 years of experience in the senior living or post-acute care industries. The group encompasses women working in skilled nursing, senior living, hospice, associations, and academia.
“For those worried about the future of the industry, the Rising Stars nominations demonstrate how much incredible talent lies in the next generation,” said McKnight’s Vice President and Editorial Director John O’Connor. “The nominations reflected women who are full-steam ahead in their ideas and enthusiasm for making the lives of seniors better.”
“Berenice exudes the definition of a Rising Star,” said Tony Barger, HealthPRO Heritage’s Senior Vice President of Quality Assurance & Compliance. “She brings a determined point-of-view to every project and really embraces what the industry needs to succeed.” In addition to being a PTA with certifications in Kinesiotaping, Aquatic Therapy, and CPR instruction, Berenice became a Quality Assurance-Process Information (QAPI) Certified Professional through the American Association of Nurse Assessment Coordination & American Association of Directors of Nursing Services. In her spare time, Berenice is an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Malcolm X College in Chicago.
McKnight’s received several hundred nominations for Rising Stars inductees, making the selection process by a national, independent panel of judges extremely competitive.
Soto, along with all Rising Star recipients, will be honored on May 16, 2019 in Chicago.
