HealthPRO Heritage VP Re-Elected for a Second Term as President of NARA

Kelly CooneyKelly M. Cooney, M.A. CCC-SLP, CHC and Vice President of Compliance and Training for Therapy Specialists, a HealthPRO Heritage company, was recently re-elected for a second 2-year term as President of the National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies.

Cooney is a Speech-Language Pathologist, CHC Certified in Healthcare Compliance, and a long-standing member of ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association). “Couple Kelly’s passion for our profession with her ability to foster collaboration amongst key stakeholders, and you’ve got an ideal leader to take up the charge for advocating for providers in today’s rehab landscape,” says Lisa Rodriguez, President of Therapy Specialists.

We are excited to have Kelly continue in her role as the President of the NARA Board of Directors,” says Christie Sheets, Executive Director of NARA. “Kelly’s first term was not what anyone expected with the challenge of leading NARA during a pandemic. Through her leadership we were able to pivot and make necessary changes to deliver timely policy changes and education tailored to our member’s operations and care delivery. Kelly brought our members together to advocate for providers and patients as well as to discuss collectively how to address the challenges of providing therapy throughout the pandemic. We are looking forward to Kelly’s continued strong leadership as we progress through the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.”

Hilary Forman, Chief Clinical Strategies Officer for HealthPRO Heritage adds, “We are proud to have Kelly – a member of our organization’s management team – advocating at the highest level for critical support services for individuals who need them most.” Kelly is also joined at NARA by HealthPRO Heritage’s George Fox (member of the conference committee) and Jessamine Downs (regional coordinator in the west).
