HEALTHPRO HERITAGE HONORED WITH 2024 IMPACT AWARD FROM NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REHABILITATION PROVIDERS AND AGENCIES
HUNT VALLEY, MD – November 25, 2024 – The National Association of Rehabilitation Providers and Agencies honored HealthPRO Heritage with its 2024 Impact Award for their activity and wellness programming in the long-term care environment.
The purpose of the NARA Impact Award is to recognize the talents of a NARA member organization whose business demonstrates excellence in the creation of a solution in the rehabilitation industry that has made a positive impact financially, operationally, and/or clinically and that can be replicated.
HealthPRO Heritage was recognized for designing tailored solutions focused on empowering the wellness departments in nursing homes, ultimately helping create a more vibrant, engaging environment for seniors. As nursing home residents are living longer, their physical, mental, and emotional well-being requires a more proactive, holistic approach.
“Many residents expressed a desire for increased engagement through physical activities, cognitive exercises, and social interactions, which led to the realization that traditional care models were not sufficient to meet these demands,” said Kandi Zysek, President Long Term Care. “With the clinical expertise of Physical Therapist and Vice President of Clinical Strategies, Payden Dowling, we developed preventative strategies, such as fall prevention, chronic disease management and health literacy education, which helped residents sustain a higher quality of life and reduced hospitalizations.”
The success of the programming was validated by measurable improvements in residents' mobility, reduced fall risk, and an increase in self-determination for managing their health. These outcomes formed the foundation for broader implementation across additional communities, ensuring that the program was both adaptable and effective across various care settings.
